NOAA record 5178470 ↗A 300 foot wide avalanche near Bridal Veil Falls briefly damned the Provo River. There were no injuries and no damage from the slide.

The slide from Square Top Peak was estimated to be near 500 feet wide and 5 feet deep, with a vertical drop of 1000 feet. The couple, a man and a woman, were discovered the next day by a search team.
