NOAA record 5487697 ↗Dense fog formed along the Great Salt Lake during the morning commute, causing a 59 car pileup between the Salt Lake International Airport and Saltair. Amazingly, there were no fatalities, but 14 people were injured and taken to local hospitals.
NOAA record 5327876 ↗A fast moving cold front produced 89 mph (77 kts) winds ahead of it on Hidden Peak near Snowbird. The front also brought 55 mph (48 kts) gusts with its passage at the Salt Lake City International Airport. Those winds managed to flip over a small plane, causing some light damage.
