Clear all filtersLocalized heavy rains fell in the Zion National Park area, producing some flash floods on Pine Creek and in portions of The Narrows. Two parties of 4 hikers were trapped near The Narrows, and were forced to stay overnight as the waters receded. They hiked out the following afternoon and were rescued.
NOAA record 5177914 ↗Monsoon rains brought widespread flooding to nearly all of Washington County. At least one home was flooded in Dammeron Valley when a drainage ditch spilled over its banks. The Veyo pool sustained mud and silt damage when flood waters swept through the facility. I Brookside, a UP&L canal started leaking and washed out a road.
NOAA record 5177626 ↗Heavy rain brought flooding in the Saratoga Springs area, with 2 homes having their basements flooded. Some road damage was also reported with the flooding.
NOAA record 5177624 ↗Heavy rains on the north end of the Oquirrh Mountains brought a river of mud, ash, and water into some yards in Lake Point. The rains fell over an area which had lost the erosion-controlling vegetation from a fire back in July. Up to six inches of mud and ash covered the yards.
NOAA record 5177623 ↗Over 2 and a half inches of rain in 2 hours caused flash flooding in New Harmony. All washes in the area were running fast and full. Pea to marble-sized hail also was reported with this storm.
NOAA record 5177448 ↗Heavy rains around fell over a burn area on the east slopes of the Oquirrh Mountains, resulting in a flash flood of water, mud, debris and ash. The flood covered a few yards in the Lakepoint area. Six baby rabbits were lost to the water.

Drainage systems in town were overwhelmed by the storm, as flood waters up to 4 feet deep moved through the streets. NOAA record 5177443 ↗A sudden downburst from a thunderstorm produced flash flooding down the gorges of the hills on the west side of Aurora. The water soon filled the canals that go through town. The canal bank broke in 3 places, causing the State road department to be called out to repair the damage. The Denmark Wash overflowed a road leading to some homes, and flooded some farmyards.
