Clear all filtersA large section of a county road east of White Rim Road in Canyonlands National Park was underwater during flash flooding, with up to a foot of mud deposited over the roadway. White Rim Road in the park was also flooded which stranding a number of back country campers.
NOAA record 550765 ↗Heavy rains overnight flooded local drainages and several roadways in the Needles district of Canyonlands National Park. Some roads were impassable due to deep mud after the flood waters abated.
NOAA record 548797 ↗Mud and water up to 6 inches deep was reported to be flowing over Highway 191 just north of Monticello.
NOAA record 545403 ↗Significant amounts of small hail and rainfall led to flash flooding north of Monticello where 3 to 4 feet of water covered grassy areas near Highway 191. Flash flooding was reported from near the airport up to near Peters Hill which mainly impacted a lower road near the highway.

NOAA record 545209 ↗Heavy rainfall amounts across Canyonlands National Park led to widespread flooding throughout the Needles District portion of the park. The flooding caused several secondary roads to be washed out and closed. Search and rescue operations were needed as well. Rainfall amounts near the flooding area were around one inch.
