The dense fog that resulted in this event was part of the same pool that led the Cortez - Montezuma County Airport ASOS in Cortez, CO to report visibilities reduced to less than one quarter of a mile.

NOAA record 1140230 ↗A brush fire was reported around 10:15 a.m. along Interstate 15 near Leeds. Wind gusts at an automated weather station near Leeds were from the northeast at around 45 mph. The northbound lanes of Interstate 15 were closed around 10:30 a.m. Lanes were opened shortly after 12:00 p.m. The fire damaged power poles that caused local power outages.
