NOAA record 5623793 βA severe thunderstorm developed in western Wayne county. A spotter in Caineville measured hailstones as large as 2" in diameter. This severe thunderstorm moved east into Hanksville about an hour later and dropped 1" diameter hail in that town. Some minor damage was reported in the area. Minor flooding was reported in a few businesses east of Hanksville on SR95 from this storm as well.
NOAA record 5622802 βEvery entry comes from the NOAA / NCEI Storm Events Database, the federal record of severe weather in the United States. We reproduce it here filtered to Utah and made searchable β we do not edit, add to, or interpret the records. Where NOAA lists a wind speed in knots we show it in miles per hour; everything else is verbatim.
Locations are NOAA's own county and National Weather Service forecast-zone names, which is why you will see both Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains South of I-80. A storm not listed here was not necessarily absent β it means NOAA has no recorded report for it, which is common for isolated hail.
