NOAA record 1124220 ↗As a result of heavy rain nearby, fairly substantial flash flooding was observed along Short Creek through the Hilldale area, with flood waters and debris crossing streets and overflowing culverts. A subsequent rise in flow from approximately 25 CFS to a peak of 1300 CFS was observed at the Fort Pearce Wash gauge downstream as the flood wave propegated.

An initial peak of 1228 CFS was observed at approximately 4:00 pm MST. The river then fell to 359 CFS at approximately 7:00 pm MST, before rising again to a secondary peak of 858 CFS at approximately 11:00 pm MST.
