NOAA record 550821 βA couple from Kansas observed and recorded a funnel cloud from a strong thunderstorm with rotation. An elevated ridgeline existed between the funnel and the eyewitnesses, such that the base of the funnel cloud extended below the ridgeline which prevented any determination of how close the rotation may have gotten to the ground.
NOAA record 542316 βSeveral residences in the western portion of Maeser experienced flash flooding, and street flooding was reported in much of Maeser. A road was also washed out in Dry Fork Canyon to the north of town.
NOAA record 549812 βFlash flooding occurred in a residential section of Maeser, with street flooding also reported in nearby areas. Most of the flood damage occurred to landscaping.
NOAA record 548921 βHailstones up to the size of ping pong balls fell across sections of the Maeser area. Minor damage was reported mainly to vehicles.
NOAA record 558269 βEvery entry comes from the NOAA / NCEI Storm Events Database, the federal record of severe weather in the United States. We reproduce it here filtered to Utah and made searchable β we do not edit, add to, or interpret the records. Where NOAA lists a wind speed in knots we show it in miles per hour; everything else is verbatim.
Locations are NOAA's own county and National Weather Service forecast-zone names, which is why you will see both Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains South of I-80. A storm not listed here was not necessarily absent β it means NOAA has no recorded report for it, which is common for isolated hail.
