Clear all filtersNon-convective shower activity approaching and moving through the region resulted in a period of strong sustained winds and gusts at many observing sites. Some observations included 64 mph at the VERNON HILL mesonet site and 62 mph at the SR-201 at I-80 mesonet site.

NOAA record 1094981 ↗Snow Squall. The SR-112 @ MP 6 Utah Avenue reported a period of moderate precip (snow) with gusts exceeding 30 mph and visibility below 1 mile. Similar conditions were noted at the Bolinder Field-Tooele Valley Airport ASOS, with a period of light snow coinciding with gusts exceeding 30 mph and visibility as low as 1 mile.
NOAA record 1089296 ↗A peak wind gust of 66 mph was recorded at the SR-201 at I-80 mesonet site at 2:40 am 3/15, with an additional gust of 58 mph noted at 3:20 pm 3/14. The SR-36 at MP 49 Stockton Bar and Grantsville South mesonet sensors also recorded gusts at or in excess of 58 mph within the time period.
NOAA record 1087913 ↗Several hours of high winds were observed throughout the Toole and Rush Valleys, with the I-80 at MP 79 Timpie mesonet sensor recording a peak gust of 82 mph at 5:40 pm. Other mesonet sensors including I-80 at MP 81 Dolomite, SR-112 @ MP 6 Utah Avenue, and SR-201 at I-80 recorded several gusts at or in excess of 60 mph throughout the time period. NOAA record 1084124 ↗Snowfall accumulation in Tooele ranged from 18-24 inches. Other snowfall accumulations include 14.5 inches with 0.62 inches of snow water equivalent at Grantsville and 10.0 inches with 0.93 inches of snow water equivalent at Stockton.
NOAA record 1083917 ↗Coop snowfall observations in the Tooele Valley ranged from 7 to 14 inches. The Bolinder Field-Tooele Valley Airport ASOS recorded 0.96 inches of snow water equivalent, or approximately 10 inches of snow. In addition, snow at the ASOS was heavy enough to result in a prolonged period of visibility below 2 statute miles.
