NOAA record 838688 ↗The automated sensor 2 miles south of Brian Head recorded strong winds for several hours, including a peak gust of 87 mph. Approximately 30 trees snapped and fell on runs at Brian Head Resort, and 20 trees fell on runs at Eagle Point. Both mountain resorts were closed at the time.
NOAA record 621456 ↗In addition to gusty winds in the lower elevation gaps, strong winds also occurred in the higher elevations of southwest Utah. The White Reef RAWS measured the strongest winds across the area, with a maximum recorded wind gust of 63 mph.
