Clear all filtersAround 430 p.m., three paddleboarders were near the dock at Quail Creek Reservoir when gusty winds pushed them away from the dock. They were not wearing life vests. Two of the people were able to swim back and reach the shore, but a third person was later found unconscious and unresponsive by Quail Creek State Park rangers. The individual, a 50-year-old male, was pronounced dead on the scene. The

NOAA record 1198213 βA wind gust of 76 mph was recorded at the White Reef mesonet site and the St George Regional Airport AWOS recorded a peak wind gust of 63 mph.
NOAA record 1084025 βLANDSPOUT. Location: 37.070N, 113.630W. A video posted to social media showed a landspout tornado near Tonaquint Drive in St. George. No damage was reported. Time estimated from radar.
