This was the result of several hours of rain and thunderstorms, with Multi-Radar/Multi-Sensor system rainfall estimates of approximately 0.50 to 1.50 around much of the area.

Family members reported them missing Monday morning when they did not return as scheduled. A search began shortly thereafter and one of the hikers was found alive Monday evening and was taken to a hospital via helicopter.
