NOAA record 1226703 ↗Gusty southwesterly winds peaked over Grand County, Utah in the late morning and early afternoon of October 29th. The highest recorded gust was 61 mph recorded at the KCNY ASOS at Canyonlands Airport, about 10 miles north of Moab. This was recorded between 10AM and 11AM MDT. Gusts around the zone ranged from 45 mph to the peak of 61 mph. No reports of damage were received.
NOAA record 1220485 ↗The Prairie Fire started in mid September 19 miles west-northwest of Mack, Colorado just north of Interstate 70 on the Utah side near the Colorado-Utah stateline due to a lightning strike. The fire grew to 1,921 acres before it was contained a couple days later in mid September. The estimated cost to date was $375,000.

NOAA record 1181621 ↗Wind gusts across the zone ranged from 45 mph to near 60 mph. The peak wind gust of 59 mph was recorded at the KCNY ASOS at the Canyonlands Airport, north of Moab. This was the only wind gust to be recorded above 58 mph.

The peak gusts of 67 mph were both recorded on the evening of the 7th at KCNY ASOS at the Canyonlands Airport north of Moab. These peak gusts actually occurred in the post-frontal regime, but gusts of 50 mph were common from the evening of the 5th on through the cold frontal passage on the 7th.

In addition, the KCNY ASOS at Canyonlands Airport recorded a minimum temperature of 25F. 8 of the available 16 sites recorded temperatures at or below 32F for at least 3 hours, with these temperatures lasting for on average 5.5 hours.

The KCNY ASOS recorded two gusts between 60 mph and 65 mph between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Also during this time period, two other mesonet sites in the zone recorded gusts of 65-70 mph. Gusts ranged from 45-80 mph during the duration of the event across Utah Zone 027.
