NOAA record 970669 ↗A flash flood resulted in the temporary closure of Hunter Canyon Campground along the Kane Creek Road near Moab. The local Bureau of Land Management office had pictures of Kane Springs Creek running high and water spilling into the campground.
NOAA record 967340 ↗A debris flow occurred in the Salt Wash that crosses Delicate Arch Road in Arches National Park. 3 to 6 inches of mud was deposited across the road and a few medium to large size boulders were moved.
NOAA record 967339 ↗Water, mud and debris flow from the Pack Creek Fire burn scar reached Spanish Valley as far north as the intersection of Beeman Road and Spanish Valley Road. The culverts were not big enough to hold water. Water, mud and debris went over the road and came into some basements a couple inches deep.

Water was estimated to be 6 to up to 12 feet deep based on erosion of the arroyo walls. Numerous instances of dry arroyo crossings were washed out with significant transport of sediment and debris downvalley.
NOAA record 961524 ↗Two people were struck by lightning while recreating on the West Rim Trail at Dead Horse State Park. Crews found both individuals in critical but stable condition before they were transported to Moab Regional Hospital for care.
